MARKETING MANAGER – based in Shah Alam

GROUP BUSINESS ACTIVITIES – OVERVIEW:

Established in 1996, Mahnaz Food Group is a leading importer of high-quality nuts, dried fruit, health foods, juice, oil, confectionery, spices, etc. We offer more than 3,00 SKUs in the market and have continued to grow steadily in Malaysia. 

We are a fast-paced company. In line with our expansion plan, we are looking for a dynamic, performance-driven, experienced, and ambitious Head of Marketing to join our management team. This position requires you to play a vital role in building and leading our Marketing team for our retail business.  

This position reports directly to the Managing Director, and the key functions are as follows:

JOB SUMMARY:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for formulating and executing our marketing strategy. You will lead our marketing campaigns, evaluate our marketing performance metrics and collaborate with internal teams. You should have a strong marketing background with excellent communication skills and attention to detail. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Define and execute the marketing and communication activities according to our marketing plan.

2. Collaborate with other teams to promote offerings.

3. Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote products. 

4. Track performance of all marketing campaigns.

5. Develop marketing plans that set goals for increasing revenue, market share, and brand awareness.

6. Develop pricing strategies for products based on competitors’ prices, customers’ willingness to pay, and company cost structures.

7. Identify new business opportunities by researching new technologies, markets, and competitors.

8. Conduct market research to identify potential opportunities for growth in existing markets or new markets.

9. Design advertising campaigns that create brand awareness, generate leads, and promote sales.

10. Create an effective retail outlet environment that will attract customers with visual appeal, comfort, and convenience.

11. Meet with outlet Managers/Supervisors to discuss performance metrics and identify problem areas.

12. Analyze data to identify opportunities for increasing outlet traffic and sales.

13. Evaluate and optimize marketing and pricing strategies.

14. Analyze market trends and prepare sales forecasts.

15. Increase brand awareness and market share.

16. Develop and manage the marketing department’s budget.

17. Oversee branding, advertising, and promotional campaigns.

18. Manage the marketing department’s staff.

19. Prepare and present quarterly and annual reports to senior management.

20. Promote our brand at trade shows and major industry-related events.

21. Keep the management informed of marketing strategies and trends.

22. Lead, motivate and improve team performance and team growth.

23. Execute marketing strategies with sales team effectively.

24. Lead the development of digital marketing to increase sales through e-commerce.

25. Monitor monthly marketing planning to ensure everything is progressing as per stipulated deadlines.

26. Hands-on activation across all social platforms, as well as rapid testing of new channels, campaigns, creatives, incentives, and approaches.

27. Develop and monitor social assets to ensure the design and brand consistency.

28. Execute end-to-end marketing plan and budget for the organization.

29. Analysis and report profit contribution across all marketing channels and perform an ongoing assessment.

30. Lead and assist marketing plan in service line and products of company.

31. To handle project or assignments on management’s direction from time to time.

ADVERTISING & PROMOTION:

1. To improve retail marketing such as monthly promotion and retail display.

2.  Organize and attend events such as conferences, seminars, receptions, and exhibitions.

3.  Arrange an effective distribution of marketing materials.

4. Source advertising opportunities and place advertisements in the press local, regional, national, and specialist publications or Multimedia (in consultation with the Head of e-Commerce), depending on the organization and the campaign.

5.  Liaise with designers and printers to manage the production of marketing

materials, including leaflets, posters, newsletters, e-newsletters, catalogues, and DVDs.

6.  Liaise and create monthly promotions with the sales department.

7.  Update company product catalogues and profile.

RETAIL MARKETING:

1.     To develop and maintain a database of media contacts.

2.     To arrange and distribute marketing materials.

3.     To conduct customer behaviour and market survey.

4.     To access and analyze the effectiveness of the marketing campaign to ensure targets are met.

5.     To coordinate marketing campaigns with sales activities.

6.     To ensure marketing objectives are conveyed effectively to all relevant persons, departments, and companies.    

7.     To organize marketing meetings, including preparation of meeting agenda and record minutes of the meeting.

8.     To establish and maintain company branding.

9.     To present an analysis diagram after every campaign or monthly promotion.

10. To maintain and update customer databases.

11. Use email, AdWords, and other marketing techniques to inform customers of the new products and product information.

12. Communicate with target audiences and manage customer relationships.

13. Work with the Managing Director to establish brand positioning, identify target audiences, and develop marketing plans with specific objectives across different channels and segments.

14. Lead the execution of marketing programs from start to finish, leveraging internal support and driving collaboration. Work with media agencies to plan, execute & deliver good performance campaigns.

15. Analyze customer insights, consumer trends, market analysis, and marketing best practices to build successful strategies.

16. Create, maintain, and conduct analytics reporting and extract key insights for future campaign development and go-to-market strategies, complete with formal proposals and recommendations on tactics.

17. Able to influence, provide inputs and advise the management team on brand direction, key strategic marketing strategies, and challenges based on clear issue framing, structured thinking, and rigorous analysis.

18. Bridge marketing and business opportunities via a keen grasp of the business goals and a clear understanding of the possibilities and limitations.

19. Partner closely with cross-functional teams to create forward-thinking and engaging PR & Communication content to drive forward various business goals.

20. Good understanding of Malaysia’s media landscape, always exploring opportunities for innovative collaboration to promote the brand and products with media partners, especially on emerging media.

21. Lead the local marketing team, providing coaching and development to team members to accomplish goals and ensure their growth.

REQUIREMENTS:

1.     Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or equivalent

2.     3+ years’ experience in marketing in a similar capacity

3.     Ability to multi-task

4.     Excellent interpersonal, verbal & written communication, and organizational skills.

5.     Able to thrive in matrix environments and are adept at building relationships with different stakeholders

6.     You have a self-starter mentality with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced working environment

7.     You have a high level of attention to detail including a proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously

8.     You are a creative thinker with a strong customer orientation

9.     Knowledge of marketing strategies, product development, competitive strategies, consumer research, industry trends, and usability best practices.
