The average starting salary we can offer you is in the range of RM 2,700 - RM 3,500. If you have credibility beyond the minimum criteria we are looking for, the provisions regarding the average initial salary we offer may change according to our company HRD agreement.

We are looking for a well-organized Purchasing Officer to support the day to day operations of our rapidly expanding purchasing department. We work 5-day weeks

In primary role, purchasing officer will to source and ordering products, services and raw materials for the company’s day to day operations and to maintaining accurate and timely purchases order processing, placing orders to suppliers, monitoring and verifies items received with items ordered. You should be able to negotiate with vendors and maintain good relationships with key suppliers.

Purchasing Officer Responsibilities

  • · Conducting new product research and sourcing new potential suppliers/vendors
  • ·  Sourcing, compare and negotiating the best offers, contract terms from suppliers/vendors
  • ·  Perform daily purchasing operations, issues Purchase Order, matching Delivery Order against Purchase Order and Invoice, prepare GRN for submission to Account Department
  • ·   Responsible for Update and maintaining a record of suppliers, all orders, received stock and all outstanding purchase orders with clients
  • ·   Track orders ensuring accurate deliveries; follow up on delays or orders that have been rescheduled; resolves shipment error and ensure timely delivery
  • · Inspecting goods received by comparing items requested to items ordered and reporting any faulty items immediately
  • ·     Participate in the monthly stocktake and carry out any ad hoc stocktake requests as required
  • ·    Assists other ad-hoc assignment from time to time as instructed by Purchasing Manager
  • ·   Attending product launches and exhibitions to stay up-to-date with industry trends

Purchasing Officer Requirements

  • ·    Proven work experience in purchasing in FOOD & BEVERAGE industry OR in field of CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS
  • ·     Superb written and verbal communication and negotiation skills
  • ·   Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating and liaising with vendors)
  • ·    Hands-on experience with purchasing software (Auto Count and Micros); strong data entry skills
  • ·     Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • ·     Understanding of supply chain procedures
  • ·     Excellent networking and time management skills
