We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Land Surveyor to join our team. The Land Surveyor will be responsible for conducting accurate measurements of land, recording data, and creating detailed maps and plans. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate boundary determinations, supporting land development projects, and maintaining compliance with surveying standards and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct land surveys using advanced surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS devices, and distance measuring instruments.
- Measure and record precise data on land features, topography, structures, roads, and water bodies.
- Create maps, plats, and profiles based on survey data, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
- Determine property boundaries and land ownership lines in accordance with legal requirements and land records.
- Assist in land development projects by providing accurate topographic and terrain data to aid in design and construction.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure accurate interpretation and integration of survey data into project plans.
- Monitor construction sites to verify that construction activities align with survey specifications and design.
- Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software to manage, analyze, and present survey data.
- Stay updated on relevant surveying laws, regulations, and standards to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure project progress.
- Perform calculations for coordinates, distances, angles, and elevations using appropriate mathematical methods.
- Prepare and submit reports, drawings, and documentation as required for legal and project-related purposes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, or related field.
- Professional Land Surveyor license preferred.
- Proficiency in using surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS equipment, and data collectors.
- Strong understanding of land surveying principles, practices, and methodologies.
- Proficiency in GIS software for data management and analysis.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in data collection and mapping.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and standards related to land surveying.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Prior experience in land development projects is a plus.
- Physical ability to work outdoors and in various terrain conditions.
