Job / Function Purposes:
- Support the Head of Compliance in managing the company’s compliance risk, which can be defined as the risk of legal or regulatory sanctions, financial loss, or loss to reputation as a result of its failure to comply with all applicable laws, regulations and codes of conduct.
- Compliance officers within the Compliance department have a duty to work with management and staff to identify and manage regulatory risk and ensure internal controls are put in place to manage compliance risk.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide general supervision to the team as a senior member in the identification, assessment of compliance risks inherent in various company initiatives and communicate compliance risks effectively and identify mitigating solutions to manage risks.
- Provide leadership in the Regulatory Compliance & Market Conduct team for identifying, assessing and reporting on regulatory compliance risks.
- Assist in the preparation and implementation of annual risk-based compliance review plans to assess the effectiveness of the implementation of compliance controls to mitigate compliance risks and to meet both Group and local regulatory requirements.
- Provide leadership in performing appropriate tests and review to evaluate the adequacy of internal controls put in place to manage compliance risks.
- Assist the Head of Compliance in the provision of general compliance advice and expertise to address compliance risk to the Board of Directors, Senior Management and officers of the company.
Requirements:
- A recognized Degree in Business Studies / Management / Legal / Finance / Accounting / Banking or any other equivalent qualification.
- At least 8 -10 year(s) of working experiences preferably in the Life Insurance industry with relevant exposure in Compliance.
- Possess a positive attitude and self-motivated.
- Good communication skills and able to interact well with all levels
