We are hiring for candidates in the residents of Kuala Lumpur and the surrounding regions, we are open recruitment for the positions as Unit Head, Underwriting - Non Large & Specialized Risk in our business office, Etiqa Insurance & Takaful.

Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, & Professional Degree or even higher and greatly experienced in Accounting/Finance & Banking/Financial are especially required. We can offer you a salary that is generally between RM 1,600 - RM 3,700, which is competitive and reasonable. But no need to be worry! If you are beyond our expectations and dedicated to bringing our company to be much better with the credibility that you can offer, the salary range is negotiable and also can be changed according to our company HRD agreement.

Responsibilities
- To plan and formulate strategy for underwriting and risk selection activities towards enhance portfolio growth and profitability and ensuring compliance to stipulated guidelines and regulation as well as managing and lead the team to ensure the objective is met.
- To define, determine, plan, establish, control and manage all aspects of product development activities for commercial business of new and existing takaful products for the sales channels.
- In addition to strategizing, plan, manage and monitor all aspects of processing, system related, reporting, projects, and to ensure effective, efficient and timely policy & endorsement processing with optimal and quality.
- To guide and coach staff and team members to ensure knowledge is shared.
Financial Perspective
To achieve Gross and Net Premium Growth and Underwriting Profitability according to Company’s Budget as well as controlling direct management expenses
Internal Processes
To ensure adherence to internal / external statutory guidelines and SLA in achieving operational efficiency.
Community
To identify opportunities and participate in social projects with a view to enhance Company’s image
Customer Perspective
To provide, establish and promote innovative solutions including technical insurance advice and support to distribution channels and customers whilst humanizing insurance.
Learning & Growth
To continually acquire and develop relevant skills and knowledge to self and team in keeping up with challenges in the working environment.
Requirements
- You must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree either in Actuarial Science or Business Studies or Insurance or its equivalent.
- You must be able to communicate effectively in Bahasa Malaysia & English effectively.
- You will must possess at least 7 – 9 years of working experience in Underwriting within General Insurance. Having prior experience with commercial underwriting classes such as property, fire or miscellaneous would be an added advantage.
- You must have at least 2 – 3 years of managerial experience.
- If you possess hands on experience with new product development, it would be advantageous to this role as well.
- You must possess strong leadership, interpersonal & problem solving skills to enable further success in this role.
