JOB TITLE : FLAVOURIST
Job Description
The Flavourist will create and evaluate flavours for a variety of applications with the use of proprietary technologies. This role will interface with customers, multiple R&D teams, responding to specific project requests. Additionally, the Flavourist promotes the commercialization of flavours with QA/production and supports on any challenges in the flavour manufacturing plant.
Job Responsibilities
1. Creation of flavours for products providing great tasting and cost optimized flavours for Industrial Customers.
2. Self-directing on complex projects including planning and leading cross functional project teams, defining, and assessing project requirements and designing and managing experiments.
3. Commercialization of flavours (understanding of processes and operations for product manufacture) and troubleshooting problems.
4. Interface and communicate project status with customers and commercial team.
5. Evaluate and assess new ingredients and technologies and work to develop areas that may need improvement.
6. Testing flavours in applications
7. To carry out calibration of measuring devices.
8. To assist in the handling of Customer’s enquiries and complaints.
9. To conduct quality checking and data recording activities in the laboratory.
10. To assist in the implementation of FSMS (FSSC 2200, ISO 2200 & HACCP) policies and requirements.
Requirements
- Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree, or equivalent in Food Science.
· In-depth understanding of ingredients and technology involved with flavour formation, application, and stability.
· Knowledgeable in raw materials, manufacturing processes, quality assurance programs and food regulations.
· An in depth understanding of ingredients and technology along with their impact on product taste and functionality.
· Has excellent ability in taste discrimination and flavour descriptor vocabulary.
