The Principal’s Assistant will be responsible for supporting the Principal and Heads of the School in their scope of work. This position will also be responsible for developing social media and communication in support of the Uplands School Community.

Key Responsibilities:

You are a dynamic, organized, and creative individual that is looking for a growth opportunity. Key components of this position include logistical planning, administrative support, event organization, communication, and social media posting. You have an interest in working within a multicultural environment and are able to support our leadership team as we grow and transform the school. 

Administrative Support: 

  • Organizational support – scheduling, planning, and communication
  • Booking of meetings – recording of minutes and development of agendas 
  • Communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, coordinating of calendars, and supporting events
  • Facilitating the work of the Heads of School and other SLT members to ensure a high level of coordination and organization
  • General administrative support, including daily communication, correspondence, and planning 
  • Attend meetings as required in support of the Principal
  • Organise schedules and arrangements for Campus Principal and visitors, such as flight and accommodation.
  • Prepare both statistical and routine reports, memoranda, handbooks, bulletins, notices, and newsletters as required.
  • Any other tasks as assigned by the Principal.

Social Media Management:

  • Actively leading our social media efforts including; Facebook, Instagram, and Linkedin
  • Coordinating with the marketing and IT teams to develop content and make regular updates/posts
  • Working with the SLT to set goals for social media with a keen eye on expanding the school’s online presence 
  • Connecting with faculty to ensure coverage of school events 
  • Organizing and streamlining our social media efforts in connection with the faculty leading both the primary and secondary sections of our school.  

Event Facilitation:

  • Supporting the school with the planning events 
  • Building relationships with service providers
  • Supporting the marketing team with the generation of materials for major events
  • Coordinating and facilitating a wide range of stakeholders 
  • Taking a key position in the organization of our 70th-anniversary celebration. 

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum three years of related working experience
  • Graduated in Business Studies, Administration, Secretarial, Hospitality, Hotels, Design Studios, or equivalent.
  • Possess excellent critical thinking skills for problem-solving and analytical.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to take multi-task.
  • Highly organized,task-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experienced working in Design/Creative/ Hotel field will be an added advantage
  • Computer literacy with strong communication skills
