Purpose of the position
The Specialist is primarily responsible for guiding & overseeing the accounting and reporting process which includes review and control of data leading to the close off business results in agreed reporting periods, review and preparation of management, group and statutory reporting, and implementation of robust internal controls. Responsible in, ensuring the provision of efficient transaction processing in conformance with company policies, IFRS, FRS and internal controls; data integrity; accuracy; timeliness of recording and completeness to provide the foundation for management, statutory and group reporting.
Principal responsibilities
– Ensures compliance with all Linde accounting and reporting standards
– Ensures timely and accurate submissions of monthly/quarterly financial reports
– Ensures implementation of robust internal control including compliance to local statutory requirements
– Development, communication and enforcement of policies and procedures for accounting and reporting operations
– Design and improvement of accounting and reporting processes focusing on simplification, standardization, quality improvement and cost minimization
– Ensure support and optimization to the financial systems used by the Finance team
– Ensures closure of outstanding audit issues
– Champions best operating practice and continuous improvement initiatives in the accounting and reporting process
– SAP/other systems implementation and resolution of system issues
– Coaches and mentors team members
– Performs other tasks or initiatives as directed by line manager

– Regional / LGSM / In – Country Finance Peers / In-country non-Finance departments
– Internal / External Auditors
– Support DoA maintenance and SoX compliance reporting

Required qualifications/experience
– A qualified ACCA/CIMA/other professional accounting body
– Several years of experience in the industrial business / area

– Strong data presentation and PowerPoint skills
